Love the new washer

I am not kidding we have gone from doing about 12-13 loads of laundry a week to only doing . . . . hold your breath . . . 4!  Yes, just four loads a week for our family of seven.  We got a Kenmore Extra Large Capacity PLUS and love it.

We are actually going to start doing cloth diapers again for the bubbies!  Dugan is almost out of dipes, but we’re going to save about $100 a month SHOCK

The new to us washer–and mice

We were given the money by family to go and replace our washer that died last week. After two days of doing laundry at my mom’s I am so grateful to have a working washer again!  7 people in a house produce an abundance of clothes!!!  We got a few year old super capacity plus Kenmore Ultra Fabric Care.  It seems to even hold more than our front loader. And after realizing that the mold problem we were having with the Maytag had resulted in a class action lawsuit that we knew nothing about and being told that the repair would cost about twice what our replacement did and the place we got the new one won’t even buy them or give trade in value because they are considered lemons *smacks head*–I’m just glad it worked as long and as hard as it did and that we have a replacement :D God is good and we are abundantly blessed!

After running an empty load to clean out the tub we have our first load in the new washer and I’m so excited. And I bought fabric softener sheets again–for two reasons. One, I miss them (they’ve been on the *luxury* list for years–though I do cut each sheet in three because it is too potent otherwise) and two, someone shared that they keep mice away!!!  So I’ve put a few sheets into the areas where the mice keep coming.

DH is also bringing home a tool from work to get the bushes away from the side of our house and we are going to start working on cleaning out the pile of junk that we’ve compiled of wood and stuff we’re getting rid of that doesn’t fit in our garage.  I’m determined to get things cleaned up this fall and have our garage organized and cleaned out. Dh is determined also so it will get done :) But it’s hard to wait for the cooler weather and not try to do stuff in the heat that will overwhelm us~

I really hate doing the budget

Sorry to everyone who hates the word hate ;) But I do.  If I could be rich for any reason (other than to give oodles of money to ministry and bless people all over the place) it would be to not have to worry about being down to the penny ever and having to hold bills and do all the technical stuff that is part of keeping the budget.  I’m just so grateful to the Lord that our finances are finally up to where they work for us and I don’t have to dread doing this each month ;) but I still don’t enjoy it.

It’s not that I fear money at all; or that we don’t have the income; or anything negative. It’s just the actual doing this job that is not within my giftings or within my interests or something that I could choose to do.  As much as I’d love to hire a maid or a part time nanny (just so I could get some rest during the day ;) ) I’d prefer to have someone whose job it is to do our budget.  Now, our oldest loves tracking money, doing math, and keeping budgets. Maybe I see a job for him in our household in the near future. Hmmmmm
