Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah!

I’ve been MIA again this week because of the holidays, but even moreso because I’ve been sick.  I have a major sinus infection that laughed at the first round of antibiotics *cry* so I’m on a stronger dose–and dyflucan to recover from the yeast from the first *rolleyes* not to mention major muscle relaxants and pain killers for a muscle spasm and Imitrex for the migraines that are making it all just crippling.  I spent Christmas Eve morning in the ER and am hoping to be feeling better by New Year’s Day–I DON’T want to usher in the new year sick :(

I’m excited for my brother, though, as his band will be headlining one of the stages at the Mill Ave New Year’s Eve Block Party!  We won’t be there, but we’ll be watching Channel 10 to see if they show him (they are sponsoring the stage he’s performing on)

OMGoodness! The funniest review ever!

This is the funniest review of TTUAC I’ve ever seen!

Please note – the review does contain some mild vulgarity. This isn’t a Christian or parenting site – apparently other people find TTUAC revolting, too!

Now, we just need to get this guy to review Created to Be His Helpmeet *shifty*

The Irony of Spanking

Welcome, my child, on this day of your birth
I’m your mother & I’ll be your guide here on earth
I’m here to love you and teach you how to be kind
But watch your step, dear, or I’ll smack your behind
I know that behind those innocent eyes
Lies the heart of the devil, so it will be no surprise
When I start on day one to teach you your place
So beautiful you are when I gaze at your face
You are a blessing, dear one, So my job I must do
Otherwise proverbs warns It will be to hell with you
You can’t want to spend eternity Absent from God
So I must properly discipline by spanking your bod
As you smile up at me It’s hard to believe
That if I don’t properly discpline My life you’ll upheave
But thus sayeth the Lord, Or so I’ve been told
So I’ll punish you forthright And about it be bold
When you roll off your blanket I’ll not be deceived
When you pull off the breast I’ll stand up and leave
When you say ‘no’ to my words I know what to do
Even if what must be turns your bum black and blue
I can’t say too much what a burden this is
It hurts me more than you, though you might disagree
I just love you so much that the thought breaks my heart
If I fail at my job then from God you’ll depart
That burden is too great, too much for just me
Though I’m sure it will work out, so over my knee

Grace is from the Lord, for both great and small
In fact, the most amazing gift of them all
Jesus died for our sins, took the punishment for me
And the punishment for you, just not while you’re three
Until you get older I stand in His place
Through my hand on your backside you’ll see His sweet face.

OH MY GOSH

it has been so long since I’ve had time to blog that I almost couldn’t remember how to log in!!!  Not even kidding.

So, what has been going on? Let’s see, after almost 2 months we FINALLY completed our refinance! WOOHOO  That means this next week I get to purchase and have installed a new kitchen and new bathrooms along with all new plumbing.  My current shower doesn’t even work and I suspect, based on last months’ water bill, a major leak in that line.

Yesterday we went to Prescott for their Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony.  What a beautiful town–we always talk about how neat it would be to live there.  Here are some links if you want to see the town and homes http://phoenix.about.com/od/daytriptoprescott/ss/prescott_8.htm and http://phoenix.about.com/od/daytriptoprescott/ss/prescott_8.htm

It was COLD!  Now, no snow on the ground and not cold for your Easterners and Northerners and even MidWesterners come to think of it LOL But for us hot blooded Phoenicians, it was downright icy :D   My oldest was talking about living there when he gets older (after he is done with the Secret Service and protecting the President and he finds a woman that he knows is the one he wants to marry–and he will get a new job there, of course, to take care of her :) ) but that talk stopped as the night went on and he got colder so we’ll see ;)
On the way home we drove through Prescott Valley and the Valley of Lights.  They’ve taken this Valley area that is a park and local businesses sponser huge light displays.  There was the entire life of Jesus from  birth to ascension; Noah’s Ark; Santa on a beach with a hula dancer and flamingos on Dec 26th LOL  Several tunnels including holly berries, snowflakes, and something else I can’t remember :D   It was really beautiful.

The lighting of the Christmas tree and the courthouse was beautiful.  Poor Aidan, though, kept asking if we could go home and we kept telling him, “As soon as the lights come on–we’re waiting for them to light the tree.”  So the SECOND the lights came on, in the middle of the song we were singing, “Okay, the lights are on! Let’s go!”  He SO takes after the grandfathers he is appropriately named for (two middle names :) ).

Bill and I are doing good.  Now that we know that any more children coming from us will be true miracles, though we are always open to miracles!, we are rediscovering a playfullness and flirtation and intimacy that had been lost in the busyness and crazyness of having preemies and then raising twins. It’s been a challenging year for both of us. I’m so grateful to be in  a marriage with a man who adores me and rides out the hard times with faithfullness and devotion.

And we’re getting ready for the holidays.  I hope soon to get up our holiday newsletter (which is done ;) ) and a picture of the kids (which is not :P ) and settle down into a new year that is going to be busy and fun and one I’m already looking forward to.
