Ronan is being evaluated for his vision

and for early intervention.  In a way I’m very sad about this, because it means he may have greater needs than I realized, but in a way I’m relieved because I want him to get the help he can and he is definately developmentally on the very low end of a few things.  He’s so amazingly compassionate and sweet and gentle, very fun and adventurous!  But then he doesn’t feed himself and has to crawl through doorways :(   We think it may be a depth perception issue.

Anyway, I’ll update when I know something.  We’re getting Dugan and Aidan checked also because Aidan says he can’t see things sometimes and gets bad headaches but I do believe his issues are related to migraines caused by corn allergy (the reason I stopped consuming corn :( ).  Dugan, I think, may be having some minor issues similar to Ronan’s.

I am loving my SoyaPower milk maker!

I’m making almond milk and finally figured out how to sweeten it so that we enjoy it :)   And, of course, people are drinking a lot less because it’s not what they are used to *rolleyes* BUT the okara (pulp after the milk is made) can be used in recipes and so far I’ve made “chicken” strips and meatless burgers (which I loved!) which means that I am not wasting anything AND from 1/2 cup of almonds I get milk AND a meal!

I’m going to figure out how to make yogurt too and I’m so excited!

This is already saving us a ton of money!

Happy Birthday To Me!

I’m 36 years old today :)

I don’t know why but birthdays are hard for me. The day started lovely but now it’s gotten really rough. I don’t want to parent or do anything today and everything is so hard. *sigh* At least dh will be home soon :)

I’m loving the look of the new blog page!

thank you so much Rebecca *hugs*  Everyone needs to check out www.rebwebdesigns.com if you want her to tackle your online look :D

So yesterday my family went to see my sil’s step mom and she is learning Feldenkries. She calls what she does “Movement Lessons” and it’s especially geared for children with autism and other learning and developmental issues.  She is wonderful and this is amazing.  I know, I know, there are a few of you who have been telling me to check it out since Liam was 2 BUT she is the first who is going to be licensed here so I’m getting to it before it’s marketed to the rest of the city ;)

After she worked with the bubbies they began pointing and walking heel toe–two things they have not really done before! Their points were crooked finger gestures but now they are POINTING and they walked sort of stiff and flat footed and now they are wiggling all over :D   She worked with Liam and he had a HUGE disappointment last night that was definitely felt by him but not with the intensity that he would have had last week.  I’m very hopeful.

She worked on me and I’m feeling much better too.  I’ll keep more posted as we go because we have nine sessions scheduled with her in the next three weeks after which she believes we’ll see a HUGE difference!
